Default Is there a throttle cable adjustment for 05 S-Type 4.2

I was over in the XK section reading some posts as i am considering changing out my 05 S-Type for an XK and I read a thread where they were adjusting their throttle cables and noticed big gains in performance.

I began searching the forums for throttle adjustment for the S-Type and didnt really find anything so i am assuming that this is not possible but i thought i would hit you guys up just to make sure.

Thanks!!!

Not for S-Types as they're drive-by-wire. Very different cars in some ways.

ahhh memories, i remember doing this with my xj 20 about years ago (and many cars since), but as jagv8 says throttle is controlled electronicly now.

Who else remembers the "kick down" button under the accelerator pedal ?

And how on some cars it became a fake, at most an unconnected switch, because the software worked out you wanted WOT (as our PCMs do)?

I'm sure I read somewhere that the s type pedal on some models still has the reminance of this placebo switch

Everybody said no but nobody seems curious onto why he wants to adjust the throttle? If you feel your rpm is low then you might want to consider a throttle body cleaning...

In his OP he mentioned wanting performance gains.

There really is no gain to be had and no point to a reset. The PCM recalibrates the TB, no need to second-guess it.

If what you want is to force the car to do maximum relearning - generally pointless or even a mistake unless you've fixed an engine fault - disconnect the battery. Then follow the Drive Cycle in the codes PDF.

I understand the later XK is essentially the same as our cars already are. (It got the same engine & autobox etc so what else would it be?)

If what you really want are power gains, do all the things everyone else always suggests - flow more air, and preferably cooler air - so pulley etc. The PCM will look after fuel, timing and so on. Let it.
