Default Vaccum Leak

I have a 2001 S-Type Jaguar with the 3.0 V6, which has a vaccum leak. The problem is I don't know the part number of the hose or what it's called but I can discribe where it's located on the engine.
There is a tube that comes from the throttle body and goes toward the back of the engine (toward the firewall). The tube goes into a 90 degree rubber boot/tube that seems to connect to the engine just behind the intake manifold. It's the rubber boot/tube that has a large hole in it and needs to be replaced. I can hear the vaccum whistle when the car is running and if I place my finger over the hole I can feel the vaccum pressure.

Forum member and moderator Rick "JoycesJag" has a 3.0 and knows the name of the hose, and then some. It's a common hose to fail on the V6. He's our V6 expert. Don't worry, Rick will be here soon to help.

Try the forum Search with words like
hose elbow
air leak
("air" will - sadly - be ignored)

Ignore threads about cars 2003+.

Oh, and as a newbie:
(a) hello!
(b) you must post an intro in the newbie forum

Thanks bfsgross for the vote of confidence, although I am by far no expert .

I am with JagV8 on this MYs 2003 and up are different from the preface lift 3.0s. I would only be taking a stab that it is either the pcv vacuum line or the pcc (purge control canister) vacuum line.

Here is a thread that may point you in the right direction, BUT its for MYs 2003 and up:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ics-faq-52720/ you may or may not be able to veiw the pictures being a new member sooooo, please follow JagV8s advice and post up an intro in the "New Members" section.

Thanks for your help Joycesjag, sorry I didn't have time to follow protocall but I'm selling my car and a prospective buyer is coming by this weekend. I'm sure he wouldn't want to buy the car with the check engine light on.

Thanks again for everyones help!!!

This is for anyone who has the same problem and needs the 90 degree hose elbow for the vacuum line that attaches to the throttle body. The Jaguar part number for the Tube-Vent (which is what Jaguar calls it) is XR839224 and it costs $17.95 plus tax USD.

Yes, the engine light is off and the car runs better.
