Valve covers 3.0 s type 2005
Has anyone had to replace the valve/camshaft covers?
My wife's s type has fractures at the bosses that accommodate the studs. On both sides of the engine, I might add. I could use a couple of supplier names also.
Thanks in advance
Dan

I forgot about that one Zane.
OP. I used FelPro gaskets for our 2005 some years ago. Along with valve gaskets, You might want to change out lower intake gaskets, plenum gaskets and also IMT o-rings (the green ones are the updated o-rings you need). Depending on mileage you might want to consider replacing spark plugs while the plenum is off. Download JTIS found here for free or get a subscription to alldatadiy.com for procedures and torque specs. Its really not that bad of a job.

Thanks gentlemen,
I sourced the valve covers from jagbits, had all the other parts ready. Spark plugs, coils, all gaskets in hand, just waiting for valve cover delivery. One of my jag owning friends (owns 7 jags) referred to the valve covers as being made from recycled milk cartons....
The s type I own is coming up to 120K miles, this will be the second go around replacing plugs, coils, gaskets, and everything else.

I don't understand the bold statement either.
I think my friend was being cynical with the milk carton reference.
The previous owner had the plugs and other components replaced at 50K. That is what I was referring to. Sorry to be confusing.......

Rick, hope the recovery is going well. Now it is your turn to add color to the discussion. I've previously opined that the cooling system parts that are allegedly plastic, are, in actuality, made from dried oatmeal. Now Daniel has contributed recycled milk cartons; surely you can come up with another part of breakfast that has gone into construction of our S-Types?
Daniel, any pics of the old cam-covers?

Zane, it is not a breakfast food but years ago I saw a reference to the plastics in these cars probably being manufactured from pre-chewed Sweet Tarts candy. I think the poster was speaking specifically about the coolant expansion tanks....
been too busy with fix to shoot pics up till now.
i got the covers from jagbits today. Replacing them next week.
