Default warning light

Can anyone tell me what the green warning light (looks like 2 headlights back to back just below the high beam indicator) in guage cluster represents? I've been thru my manual over and over and I cannot find a reference. The light is on whenever I have any of the lights on (parking, headlights). Off when lights are off. No bulbs throughout the car are burned out. All markers, flashers, brake lights, etc. are working. The car does not have daytime running lights. At least if it does, they are not active. All fuses are good as well.

It sounds like the lamp that indicates your lights are on, I leave my lights on auto so depending on the daylight it illuminates when the lights switch on and goes out when they do, easy to notice because the Sat Nav screen dims when the headlights are on.

Green is just an indication (as distinct from warning or fault) so just shows that the lights are on. No more no less...

Thanks for the replies. GGG the light is not either fog light indicator. Is this a Jaguar "thing"? I've owned merc, bmw, and vw but I have never seen this light. It seems odd to have a warning light to indicate that the lights are on.

My XJ's and XK's have all had this:

Goes on with the sidelights. Useful indication the lights have switched on when automatic headlights are fitted.

Default Thanks for the help

That's it GGG. Good to know there is no issue. Sorry Mikey, but my manaul does not reference that paticular light. Only fog lamps, turn signals, and hazard lights.

They're not in 4-6 of my manual but are in the equivalent section of the later handbook so I guess they were overlooked by the tech author!

Here's 4-6 from my .pdf copy of the manual. The hard copy has exactly the same thing. How strange that some do, some don't (??)
