Default Where is the PCV valve on the 2000 3. 0S?

I have taken the manifolds off to change plugs and coils and bought the pcv valve as long as I had it down. Can't find where it goes and hate to put everything back without replacing it. No posts as to where it really is and all anybody does is talk about it. No pictures. Someone has to know! HELP!!

There is an OIL/VAPOR separator on the top of the block that can ONLY be replaced by removing one or both cylinder heads!!

The rubber 'elbow' hose should be replaced as it is easy to get to with the intake components removed.
There is also an improved breather elbow at the top of the system that has probably already been replaced by now.

The crank case breather system has no replaceable 'valve' as such.

What is the part number that you bought to install?

Does this help?:

It's page #1-44 (page 50 of the PDF) from the T870B training guide:

I never noticed a PCV valve above the oil separator but I did replace many rubber elbows.

I might need to read through my student training guide again after 20 years??

Good catch, but that might be for the 2002.5 version onward? (X202)

Bob,

Don't feel bad about being wrong. I'm not familiar with this sensation myself, though...

There is another confusion regarding PCV valves. The ones for 2000 models are situated above the rubber elbow but this part is no longer available.
They try to sell you the ones for the 2002+ models but it is a different design.
