Will a 2002 V8 seat fit into a 2004 str?
Not seen anyone else mention how much more comfortable the 1st gen seats are compared to 2nd and 3rd gen s type seats. Looking at picking up an str for cheap but really not a fan of the seats.
The STR tended (by default?) to be fitted with a kind of racing seat but the other kind could (probably?) be fitted.
I suspect one's rear shape/size is largely what makes one or the other more comfy...
Whether the early kind would fit... probably. Might lose some functionality.

For me it’s the bottom cushion. Seems like they made the seat thinner in every way to allow more leg room for all passengers. I’m comparing to an 03 though but assume the 04 str will be just as thin. I might try swapping the 02 with the 03 seat one day to find out.
seat controller is totally different. look at the wiring diagrams and you’ll probably be able to hack up the internal seat harness enough to make it work. should just be 2 wires to each of the 4 motors for basic control

I think there may also be issues with the occupancy sensor in the seats.
From what I read some years ago now these are set to the control unit at the factory and can not be re-set even using IDS (or SDD) but I have not tried this myself so this may be wrong?
