OEM, all facelift XJSs had 16 inch diameter rims, normally carrying 225. 60. tyres. Pre facelifts normally had 15 inch rims.

Not all facelifts Greg. 15" was normal, 16" was an option. Not sure at which year they became standard fitment. '94 MY l think.

My facelift OEM 5 spoke rims (even though my car is a pre facelift, I changed to get a better selection of, and cheaper, tyres) take 225/60 ; but 225/55 will go on.

Could be anything. They are not standard Jag. wheels. Wires were never a Jaguar option. It might be written on them some where.

The spoke lacing on those examples looks a bit on the show side, not sure l would feel real safe driving it at more than sedate pace.

The wire wheels were standard on the E-Types but this kind of wheel requires careful checking and maintenance for the wheels to remain true and balanced, plus they do not resist to high stress during racing or with lots of load and/or weight.
On the E-Type, dimensions were 5J15 (for the thin 185 tyres of the series 1) then 6J15 (for the 205/70 tyres of the series 3).
For "racing" E-Type series 1, stronger triple laced 5.5J15 wheels (instead of double laced) were also used.
Wire wheels were dropped by Jaguar for the XJS, probably because of weight issues. I would not recommend using them on a XJS.
Also Ferrari dropped the use of wire wheels when going from the 275 GTB to the 365 GTB.
