Default "Boot Open" Message

Hey guys,

Does anyone know where I can locate the trunk lid sensor?

I'm installing a new trunk latch because SPP British sent me the wrong one and its giving me a BOOT OPEN message on the dash even though its closed. I put my old latch back on and no message there.

Where is this sensor!?

Thanks in advance

I have been having the same issue, cant find the switch or sensor either. I guess I'll keep an eye out here for the answer.

The boot lid latch switch is incorporated in the latch assy.
My JEPC 2005 edition lists 34 possible latches depending on the VIN and Country.

I'm sure there are superceded parts and some cover several VIN ranges.

You need to provide the VIN to get the correct part.

Oh man, I though it would be in the latch itself as well. Thanks for the help though.

Have you tried a lubricant? Sometimes it's just stuck. Found that with one of my doors, was sending the dorr open message, sprayed the crap out of all 4 doors with WD40 and voila no more message!
