Question Possible crossover for alternate fuel pump?

Love to get my hands on this and do a side by side comparison. This might be an alternative.

Can't find one in stock locally or I'd take my replacement delivered today and go compare them.

Dell: That Delphi FG1198 fuel pump looks very promising. Amazon lists it for $183, and has quick deliveries and easy returns if it's not compatible:

https://www.amazon.com/Delphi-FG1198-Fuel-Module/dp/B00MBI02OI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1533212763&sr=8-1&keywords=Delphi+FG1198&dpID=41DgS3QvxAL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch https://www.amazon.com/Delphi-FG1198-Fuel-Module/dp/B00MBI02OI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1533212763&sr=8-1&keywords=Delphi+FG1198&dpID=41DgS3QvxAL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

One caveat: The two black plastic hoses will need to be connected to the sending / suction pick-up on the left / US drivers side of the tank. To do this installation properly, you will need to access both left and right sides of the fuel tank.

I replaced only the fuel pump and reused the existing fuel pump canister and 2 plastic hoses, which can be done from the right side; no need to access the left side of the tank.

If you need access to both sides of the tank, dropping the tank may be easier than cutting two access holes. I needed access only to the right side of the tank and decided to cut one access hole instead of dripping the tank. It's a judgement call.

UPDATE!!!! Unbelievably, the local O'Reilly's part guy I deal with found an LS (3.0 engine) pump and ordered it in for me to go compare and take pictures of in comparison to the used Jag pump I bought. Can't believe he'd do that just to accommodate a curiosity. It'll be in after 6:00 p.m. Tonight (Mt. Time) and I'll go look at, measure, compare & take pictures of it side-by-side.

Well members, there is no joy in Mudville. Went to O'Reilly's to see and measure the Lincoln LS fuel pump. Although close in appearance there are definite differences in measurements. Jag height 8 1/2" bottom to top rim. Jag width of top 6". LS height is just under 10", width 5 1/2". Has a "pigtail" electrical connector on top.

Idk, but dwclapp posted this replacement part in another thread to me =
Welch Enterprises sells a $86 pump without canister, working in my 2002 without hiccup for ~4 years and ~30K miles, part #C2S41300:

Dell: Attached are pictures of the fuel pump I purchased from Welsh Enterprises and installed ~4 years ago in my 2002 X-Type. The dimensions are virtually identical to the OEM fuel pump with 2 minor exceptions.....

1) The brass outlet tube has a lip on the OEM pump, but not the Welsh replacement. When I installed and tested the new pump, the rubber fuel line was dislodged by the ~50 psi fuel pressure. Solution: So I scored the outside of the brass tub with a metal file and reattached the hose with a jubilee clamp instead of reusing the OEM metal compression ring. ~4 years and ~30K miles later without an issue.

2) The new nylon filter sock that attaches to the pump was shaped just different enough from the OEM sock that it would not attach to the pump and fit inside the canister. So I rinsed the old sock with petrol, to be extra cautious as I couldn't detect any trapped filtrate, and reused it.

Going thru this post was a life-saver before staring swapping out my pump!

I noticed my replacement pump also has a smaller brass fitting and no bead or lip, just like dw’s . I am now scoring mine as he suggests. Hope it holds up
