Default power distribution ratio?

Hey fellow X-typers whats the power distribution ratio for the front and rear?
40/60?
Ive noticed that more punch comes from the back once you hit the gas.
Also that when doing donuts in the snow the front doesnt seem to move and its more like 20/80

I find that hard to believe..Without a Viscous Coupling..I would think that the drive ratio would have to be 50:50..Otherwise some gears are going to get grounded off in a hurry..Simple mechanics would demonstrate you can't have the fronts turning at a 40 turns rate fixed,as the rears turn at a 60 turn rate without some sort of slippage..ergo; VC..

Okay..I still can't see it and probably don't understand completely the mechanics about it..But I'll take your word for it..

The rear tires will spin on occasion... at "random" when you give it a little gas during a turn
Thats on an 02 though..

40/60
39/61..
same thing!
on 02-03 there is 40% power to the front and 60% to the rear
reading this post though you guys have me confused as hell!
And weight should be 50/50.. they even took the spare tire into consideration.
Which is why I feel like a dumbass sometimes because I think it handles better without it.
lol

Yeah 60/40 or 61/39 is more or less the same I was just being more exact with the normal torque split.
Read this as the figure comes from just obver 1/2 way down the page:-
