Default X-type starting problems

Hello.

My name is Jimmy and live in Sweden.

I have problems with my X-type 2.0D 2005, one day it did not start anymore, nothing happens when trying to crank.

Battery is fine (charged and tried with cables from other car), fuses are fine, tried the ”reprogramming the keyfob” but nothing happens, changed battery in key (all buttons work on key). I think key no longer immobilises the car, lost the code to the car?

I have this errors:

P1000 On-board diagnostic (OBD) systems readiness test not complete:

P1260 Theft detected, vehicle immobilized

P1637 CAN link engine control module/ABS control module circuit/network malfunction

P1638 CAN link engine control module/instrument cluster circuit/network malfunction

P1699 CAN link engine control module/climate control module

I think I deleted P1260, but the others I could not delete.

On the dashboard it shows error: ”Errore dati computer carb”, translated to english with googletranslate: ”Carb computer data error”. Dont know what that means.

Do you think I only need to get instrumentcluster reprogrammed with key or some other problems?

Should starter crank when key on 3/crank if car is immobilised?

Very grateful for help.

Regards Jimmy

I have read about ”immobiliser reset button”. Is this that button? If so nothing happens when pushed.

Have you recently worked on anything electrical? The Can bus codes look like there is a problem on the Can Bus network, if this is broken the car will not start. This could be a problem with the ECU, check for water ingress. If anything has been disturbed like Dash Panel, Climate control then maybe a connection problem there, if not you will be looking for a broken cable.

When you turn key to position 2 (not start), does the MIL (little engine icon) remain lit?

Yes the yellow engine icon is lit on position 2. what does that say?

I also removed the ECM and checked all electric connections I found, but could not see anything bad.

If the MIL stays on constantly when key is in position 2 (not start), it means the car is not in "immobilizer" mode.

If the MIL goes out after a few seconds, this is Jaguar's built in indication the car is in "immobilizer" mode.

Just to clarify that i looked at the right icon, is that the MIL?
If so car is not immobilised, thats good I suppose.

Correct, if the MIL remains lit while sitting for several seconds in position 2 (not start). Some of the other lights will/may go out.

This may also help you as it looks like your gauges are displaying in Italian =

Thank you man.
Okey so not immobilised. Is it more likely ECM or clusterhouse is broken? Maybe best to buy both from same car

I would get it to a dealer to hook up to the computer to see which module(s) are having a problem. Take ALL your keys just in case they have to do a reprogramming.
