10 inch Tesla headunit upgrade with install video
Hey, I've been following this thread for some time now and I decided to go ahead and get the Tesla unit. I just installed it today. Everything seems to be working good except the Chinese characters on the instrument cluster. Has anyone found a fix for that? I contacted the company and they said:
"Go to car info,
scroll to the bottom click on language,
turn your car off then on
(this is the answer from Dennis)"
But that definitely didn't help my issue. Also, I like to keep my vents open but there have been a couple of times when I would unlock my door to get in and the vents would automatically close. Any idea what that could be? Oh, and I my car is a 2015 Jaguar XF.

If you can't change the Chinese by selecting English in the car info screen, then your can bus decoder is defect. I had this trouble with my first unit. Sadly they didn't send the right one so I ended up getting my money back from PayPal and bought a completely new New unit from a different seller and now all works as it should and can change the language as I wish. This may also be the problem with your vents. Tell them you need a new can bus decoder or you'll request a full refund.
give canavie a try , that's where i got my unit from but i didn't have that problem , they said the units from alibaba and aliexpress had alot of complaints about the old decoders v3
I wish those two wires were only for the hazard lights, but I don't believe they are. I believe, those two wires are used for more than the hazard lights. That black connector is the connector used for the AC functions, the door locks, as well as the hazards. The two wires coming from the back side of that, goes to the head unit to the board which has AC, hazards, and the door locks. At the head unit connection, there are about 3 more wires that go to the canbus box.

This one is for the 7". It's similar to the 12" Tesla for the XK. I don't have your Model so I don't have much to go on in terms of a diagram for the buttons as there are none on the 7". It uses OEM. But I made this one for the 7" - should help a little

Canavie sells on Aliexpress as well. My only concern with the model Canavie is displaying, is that they have a switch for parking sensor and the auto function on the right side, but for the XJL, it should be a lock and an unlock button. Even in the Youtube video on the Canavie website where they show one installed in an XJL, it shows parking and auto buttons, instead of the lock and unlock buttons.
Emergency lights adapter
So I recently bought the 10’ from AliExpress and it all seemed pretty much plug and play. I did have a few weird lights popping up at first and it did kill my battery on install but all seems to have stabled out now. In the last week or so no problems EXCEPT this damn emergency lights and door locks. My problem is that I used the conversion adapter (I have a 2011 xf) so I need one of these but with both sides having the little 4 prong one. Anyone know where I can get one or the exact name of it? Also Dennis anyway I can get that jag png? My photo editing skills really suck hehe
This is my problem Carlos but I have a 2011 XF and it has 4 wires where his only has 2. But they didn't send that connector that goes from the adapter that i had to connect to the emergency lights to my radio and at this point, I rather just look for it than to wait on them... The buttons that do not work because of this are my lock door and emergency of course.. But Any idea what the actual connector is? The small white one i mean.
thanks Dennis! Man I see how much we harass you on here and I for one am thankful so thanks man! Yeah they actually sent me the adapter that goes the wire that comes for the car. From that adapter to the radio is what I’m missing…
This is a really crap pick but in the background you can see the adapter connected to the emergency light wire that comes from the car. That orange wire coming from it has the plug your jag uses which is all that’s needed. On your car that white end connects to the radio and the grey side to your car. But with the extra adapter attached I need one with both sides as the white adapter. So any idea what size it is?
Kinda.. I have that adapter but on the side, it has a connection for the four prongs i was talking about. From there it goes to the radio. That does look like it would work though but its missing two more wires (that I see you can add on that adapter). What is that female four prongs size?
