Default 2011 XF injectors

Up to this weekend I've found my 2011 XF premium to be one of the best vehicles i've every owned. 37k miles. While driving this weekend it clicked into "Restricted Performance and I just barely made it to the dealership.
Diagnostics indicates the left bank of injectors have failed.
Cost to repair parts injectors etc. approx. $1000 US. plus labor and tax of$1500?
What should the applicable labor cost be including the initial diagnosis? seems high even for a dealership. Any suggestions?

Another forum member (Mark?) ran into a similar issue although it was only one faulty injector, they come in "banks" of 4. So if you're unlucky enough to have two failed injectors one on either side, that gets expensive. I think he paid about the same as you were quoted at a dealership. There was some talk about whether you could actually get an indie shop to replace just the failed injector but I don't know that it came to anything....

At $125 to $150 per hour, I really doubt it's a 10hr job for an experienced Jag mechanic. Probably 2-3 hours.

Well from the way it looks in the service manual the injectors can be replaced individually after removing the fuel rail BUT,
The injectors are very expensive, (Lowest I found was $380 for 1)
Rare item outside of Jag parts bins (No real aftermarket replacements)
You must remove ALL the spark plugs on the bad injector side, FIRST before removing the injectors (There's your labor)
The special tool required to remove the Jag injectors cost over $300. (A indi Jag specialist might have it?)
Talk about a rock and a hard place.

Just looked it up in the manual. The manual shows to replace all injectors is 2.8 hours.

And a set of 4 injectors is sold on Parts.com for $697.20.

$2500 definitely sounds high.

Geez.... I am glad it's only going to cost me about $700 (parts only) + $160 for the special tool. I can definitely handle this job in my garage. And I can sell the tool after I have sold both cars.

I had an indie shop replace just the two injectors that were having problems.
Bought them new in sealed bags off of ebay.
The shop bought the tools to fit them.

I presume the 4.2 injectors are different and much cheaper due to the huge numbers of 4.2's on the road, but does anyone know for sure?

Cost for replacement of injectors was $2600.00 plus additional $1000 for crossover coolant pipe. Total $3600.00 although out of warranty by 88 days I called Jaguar USA and they agreed to pay $2150.00 of the bill. I do agree the labor at nearly 10hrs. is excessive at a shop rate of $149 per hr but with Jaguar stepping up I'd recommend anyone with an issue just out of warranty make the call and see what they can get.

Sure, 10,000+ miles later and the engine runs like a top.

Hate that superchager coupler sound when you turn off the engine though.
