Default 5.0 NA workshop manual - where?

I have the 2010 XFR manual that someone generously uploaded to dropbox but there are some specific differences between the S/C and N/A that make having an actual N/A manual worth having. Many of the links I've seen that claim to be for the 2011 XF are actually just the same 2010 XFR manual.

If anyone knows of an actual 5.0 N/A manual, preferably for a 2011 that I can buy online I would be grateful for the link.

thanks!

It all in the same manual? Jaguar does not break out the engines for separate manuals.

Look on the XJ forum at the top for the forum stickies as several of us have donated different year workshop manuals. They are free to download.
But as you probably have found out. It is NOT an easy manual to use or find anything!

Plus once you find something the instructions are minimal at best and downright confusing at the worst!

Joining TOPIX may be an option but not attractive.

Thanks Guys.
I can not find the cvt solenoids on the back of the engine in the 2010 XFR manual, apparently they are for N/A motors only. If you can find them I would be much obliged. - see the thread "cam phasers?" for background

Strangely, I can't find them in the XK manual xportfolio referenced either. I'm not talking about the four solenoids on the front of the motor.

You want the AJ133 Technical Training pdf, in my Dropbox here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/8y4iax9hm2...%20V8.pdf?dl=0
Then see pages 56 and 57, about the Camshaft Profile Switching (CPS) system and the solenoids on the rear of the camshafts.
PS - that XFR Workshop Manual also came from yours truly.

Thank you OzXFR for the manuals you uploaded.
This is what makes the Jaguar Forums so immensely useful too.

Yes, thanks OzXFR. I second that.

But if the 2010 XFR manual covers the 5.0 NA engine also, why is there no mention in the manual of the CPS solenoids? When I looked through the manual, it seems pretty S/C specific? And there are no CPS solenoids on the S/C

2010-2012 XF are all pretty similar, it'd be nice to find a specific NA manual. There may be other significant differences like the CPS?

You are correct, the XFR manual says little or nothing about the 5.0 NA, it really is an XFR specific manual.
I have never heard or read of a 5.0 NA specific manual.
But that Technical Training pdf covers both engines.

The XFR Workshop Manual is for the 2010 - 2011 models so pre-facelift. After that it became Topix or nuffin.
Mechanically I believe there were very few changes from the pre-facelift to the (circa 2012) facelift, the only three I can think of off the top of my head are:
1. The ECU changed from Denso to Bosch so you can't change/upgrade the Denso ECU with Bosch software.
2. The coolant system front cross-over pipe changed from alloy to plastic (a yuuuuge backwards move, what the hell were JLR thinking!).
3. The SC bypass valve changed from vacuum operated to solenoid operated.

If you are talking about the Technical Training pdf that is from 2009 and refers to the earliest versions of the AJ133 NA and AJ133 SC, although very little has changed over the years other than mentioned above plus the timing chains, chain tensioners and guides were improved and beefed up in 2014.

Last but not least, the first year of the facelift XFR (2012) stayed with the 6 speed ZF 6HP28 when all other Jags went to the 8 speed ZF 8HP70, then in 2013 the XFR also picked up the 8 speed.

They are mention on page 915, 925 and 935. How they work is described on 937 and there is some troubleshooting info on page 1692 and 1694.

The same info is in the N/A XF workshop manual but the technical document that OzXFR referred to has much more detail in it.

I don't see any mention of the CPS on any of those pages in the 2010 XFR manual. For example p1692 is climate control information. Are we looking at the same manual?

You mention " How they work is described " but this manual seems devoid of any descriptions, just a bunch of line drawings with fasteners colored purple. Am I missing something? Is there a special button to push in the pdf which suddenly reveals a bunch of text?

No, you were commenting that you couldn't find anything in the manual that xportfolio listed which is for the NA and SC XK so I found the info in it for you

Exactly the same info is in the NA XF manual so you should be able to use the one for the XK.
