Default Has anyone replaced cats?

after alot of back and forth with dealer, finally got them to test alot of stiff and finally its the cat..
they tested a whole Lotta stuff relayed to the 0420 codes etc and yes its the driver side(bank2) cat that needs replacement.
problem jaguar wants like 1800 for it plus labor HA!
online several direct for were avaliable for 340 plus but for some reason they are all pit of stock all of a sudden and with the lockdown alot of places said they have no clue when they will get more stock of even...

anyways got some magnaflow universals...
problem is the ends of our converters are curved which is kind of wierd and never seen then in any car. several exhaust shops didn't really wanna cut and weld the universals on.
has anyone cut and weld the cats with universals and was there any problem?

thanks for any info

I've had my cats replaced twice on my STR, both times welded in. No problems.

Try & find a decent exhaust place.

You can definitely weld in aftermarket CATS, see link: 300 CEL High Flow CATS..

Well worth it, and way cheaper than going with OEM. You just need to find a decent muffler shop or performance shop, but should be straight forward

I had both of mine replaced with 200 cell high flow cats today. Cut the old ones out, welded the new ones in no problem

for the life of me I can't find the cats you guys have stated!!
well I did get the driver side cat, direct fit bolt on for basically cheap so no cut/weld involved but have a hard time finding the passenger side one haha.
ah well maybe in due time

next project will be brakes and I see carid has a pretty good price on the powerstop package drilled and slotted rotors
I'd go with rockauto but they kill you on shipping

well thanks all for the info!!
