If its a simple like for like replacement, no coding required. If your adding an amp then the CCF file needs changing!

The audio system is made up of a load of different parts and depends on what you have in your car. As long as the replacement is the same then it should just work. Point of note is that the power amp is optional and there are different installations with the power amp (8, 9 & 14 speakers), the IAM has to be configured to match.

Car keeps randomly calling and changing sources this is why im replacing
I have plugged it in to diagnose machine and come up with amplifier faults. i am planning to replace amplifier but how is calling using that?
My mechanic doesn't think its the clock spring.
Is it more likely to be the information control module according to your diagram because there is no call function on the radio?

Ah, right. There's more to this. There is also the MOST network that links the sources such as the telephone:

The ICM (10 in this diagram) controls which source to use, but it does that based on commands from the steering wheel, the ICP or the touchscreen. So you could have a rogue ICM, but you could also have random inputs coming from another module that it is responding to. the MOST network has to work in a loop, so maybe if the amp is playing up its sending garbage on the MOST and that is confusing the ICP and making it do random things. What DTCs are you seeing?

Follow Fivel's thoughts. It's the first place to start, but if you do go down the road of replacing your existing, you need the part number. "Looks the same" doesn't mean it is the same. As Fivel suggests, The MOST loop could be suspect and is usually easy to isolate. Codes are always the first place to look. MOST network errors will throw codes.
