It has a USB port, so you can plug in whatever generation cable you want.

Hi guys,

Sorry for jumping this thread - I have a 2013 XF AWD that I just purchased with 4K miles - was a dealer demo. I've tried to plug in my Iphone 5S and my older Iphone 4 into the USB port, and each time the Infortainment screen says something like "please plug in USB device". Obviously, its recognizing the fact that something is being plugged in yet it will not work. If I have my Iphone 5 paired with bluetooth, it disconnects the bluetooth connection but still does not connect the USB. Any thoughts? I suspect I have an issue with the unit but perhaps I'm not following some direction - which is altogether possible...

Thanks!
Chris

I think the original poster has an older model like my 2010 which had a Jaguar-specific cablt that has the older style ipod tip. I doubt Jaguar bothered to develop a new cable that has the ipod "lightning" tip. Most likely, an adapter is needed. Also, note that on XFs built prior to Oct 2010, the output for the ipod cable is 12 volts whereas the newer ipods are 5 volts. So, when I bought a new ipod that was 5 volts, I had to get a small inline transformer to charge my ipod Nano.

You will be fine with either an auxilery adapter or, better yet, an auxilery bluetooth adapter.

I have a 2010 XF with the dedicated iPod cable. I've had a 1st generation iPod touch connected to it since Dec 2009. Now I want to connect my iPhone 5s so I bought an Apple "30 pin to lightning adapter" from Best Buy. But the phone is not detected by iPod cable nor will it charge. The phone is not recognized by my iMac either when connected to the adapter. The adapter was $10 cheaper at Best Buy than at the Apple online store, this makes me question the authenticity of the adapter.

I read on this forum that a Scosche passPORT Charging Adapter for iPod and iPhone (Black) would work to charge the phone and if used with the "30 pin to lightning adapter" will allow the phone to be detected by the iPod cable. I am waiting on the passPORT to be delivered. I hope it works. Will post back with the results.

I have a 2010 XF Portfolio. I use the Apple lightning adapter with the Scosche power adapter for my iPhone 5s. You must use both because the Scoche changes the power from 12volts, from the car, to 5volts, for the iPhone 5s. The apple adapter provides the connector conversion. The combination works perfectly.

As it turns out, the genuine Apple adapter was faulty and I had to return it to Best Buy. Tried another brand new adapter bought at Best Buy and it didn't work either. Bought one at a Verizon store and it worked. The Scosche passPORT arrived today too. The combo works great!

I put in the Blackberry Bluetooth adapter in my Jag, our limo, and the Lotus, and it's really nice to not need to connect anything to play music from my phone or one of the kid's phones, especially if they are in the back.

Not exactly expensive either.

I use the same and it works great. I've tried a few different adapters and settled on this one. My phone (Galaxy S3) connects every time I get in without having to manually connect. The USB near the AUX port keeps the adapter charged at all times. I'd highly recommend it to others looking for a way to connect their phone to the 09-11 XF.

I have a jaguar Xk 2010. Any tips how I can stream bluetooth audio from my iphone 7 to the car?

Tried a bluetooth adapter on the old ipod plug under the armrest. Strangley my touchscreen started to restart non-stop. Maybe because the pjone was connected via the carkit AND the bluetooth adapter.

Tips are very welcome!

You will need these two things. You can use all the steering controls. Works like it was plugged in. I bought March 8th, I'm going back to wired so the phone charges while hooked up. Will sell for $100 free shipping.
