jag in limp mod
Yes I also thought those tight rubber pads would not come out. But they will. Try to pull up on the bottom edge and again pull straight up and off the pins. It will take some wresting to get them in and out. It's one of those things that it's hard to figure out until you do it once. Then it all makes sense.
Now I don't know how much reading you have done and I think you don't have much experience in fixing cars.
But another trick which will help a bunch is this. Remove the nuts on both engine mounts. Both are easy to remove once the belly pan is removed and they point straight down. Now using a piece of wood to protect the oil pan GENTLY jack the engine up. It will come up a couple of inches. Note the entire car will come up a bit as the weight of the engine is placed on the jack. Sometimes I have run out of jack height BEFORE I got the engine high enough. Just use extra blocks of wood on the jack if needed.
The motor mounts are flexible and I use two people. One working the jack and the other shaking the engine a bit so it comes off the frame . Same when lowering. It needs a bit of wiggle to get the studs in the holes. Just go slow and watch for things getting pinched.
The problem with a mechanic is you need someone who works on late model Jaguars. If he has no experience you don't want him to use your car as a training ground to improve his skills at your expense. Plus I won't take in a repair when it's been messed with by the owner. I mean how many parts are already broken and/or missing?
Unless of course it's a friend and I have squared away several huge disasters they have created. You would have been better off to not start the repair.
Note if you do get someone make sure he understands and HOPEFULLY has a working SDD system.
But at this point it might be better to stay with it?
We have dozens if not hundreds of threads with many tips and pictures in them. Maybe spend some time looking at them?

So I made the D to throw in the towel.
I definitely don't have the mechanical expertise (or a friend lol) to mess with engine mounts and if a plastic cover is stopping me, then I best get someone who not only has the shop but a bit more knowhow them myself. I found someone who is actually about 15 minutes from my house that is Jag knowledgeable and for $150 an hour will use my parts to knock it out in a day. That is a lot better then me struggling for days at this point. I'm about 1.5/2ish grand in parts at this point and kind of just need to get this going and out of my garage.
So I think for me this is the best choice. Appricate everyone's replies in this thread, maybe it will help someone else also. Lots of great info here and in other similar threads.

Just wanted to circle back here. My guy replaced all the parts in about 7.5 hours. It was his 1st time on a jag so not sure if that was quick or not. Either way it cost me $1220 with tax. Car started immediately and ALL codes went away except for the tps sensor which was there prior. When I got there, Car was looking amazing and I was super excited to get her on the road again.
I have all the old parts but he didn't leave them in order so I don't know which is which but I'll post a pic of all the plugs injectors and coils here shortly.
All in all, I think this cost be just over $1638 for the injector coils plugs and retainers Fuel filter and 5L of oil from FCP Euro. An Amazon order of about $350 for the injector pullers which he didn't use, the seal compressor, the brass cleaning pipes, another r5l of oil, the oil filter wrench tool, and the air powered oil change mityvac thing.
With labor and these costs I'm sitting at just a smidge over $3200 and the car runs so good! He mentioned only that a little bit of coolant came out but levels were still good so just watch that. I changed the oil prior to taking it to him. Oh I almost forgot the tow cost as a veteran cost me about $250 and the uber to go pick it up cost me 30 bucks. So really I am in it $3480 out the door! LOL, if I recall from the dealer they wanted over 5k-8k just to fix the "Issue". Here I am in such a better spot for way less and could not be happier.
One thing I noticed though is its not spitting/popping like it used to. I gave it a few revs on the freeway on the drive home and in the garage but none of those cool pops came out. So not sure what's going on there. Now on to get the tps sensors alert and I'm probably due for new tires anyhow.
Anyways I'll post those pics up soon, thank you again for the help here. Great place to chat it up with knowledgeable people. Thanks again.
