Default Rear tail light, No Indicators, but rest of lights work

I thought I would come here today to see if someone can solve a problem. I have a Jaguar 2012 XF and I,m having trouble with my rear indicators. They work on front and on the doors but not the rear. Was wondering is it a fuse problem, a wiring problem or is it just the LEDs in the box. If someone could let us know as I,m scratching my head. Many thanks in advance

A graphic from the Electrical Guide is never easy to see in a forum post but this does confirm both front and rear indicators feed from the rear junction box and are not independently fused.

So would that mean that the unit itself on both sides has to be replaced you reckon or is it a wiring fault. Nothing comes up on the dash if anything is faulty......

Did you get this sorted? Having issues with my rear indicator now and don't want to replace the whole unit

I've had to deal with something similar on my Audi a few times, but I'm not sure if it's caused by the same thing in your Jag. Basically, one of the many wires which go through the trunk hinge of my Audi and under the rear deck lid eventually (over many years) gets pinched and breaks. It's happened to two separate wires in the same bunch, causing different effects. It's a simple wire patch job, but figuring out where the actual cut is, unraveling the wrapped loom, etc. can be tedious and time consuming.

The cause of my issue was water ingress. I was using a pressure washer weekly to wash the car and it appears to have been the culprit. I switched back to the buckets and sponge method and the indicator starting working as normal within days. Easiest thing is to pop out the lamp (3 bolts holding in it) and check the connection. Might be worth wrapping it in something to waterproof it.

The trunk cables mentioned by Reaxions are a whole other issue that most XF owners will experience. This affects the reversing camera and soft close trunk resulting in the car not locking as the trunk won't latch. Relatively simple fix to both issues.
