Talking Track Issue

OK,. went racing this weekend , and got beat badly......especially by some tuned GTRs, and some Tuned WV.\\

SO plan of acction,

upgrading both lower and upper pulleys to MAX, this will over heat the system and might not add BOOST as the M112 eaton allready propably close to MAX

BUT here is what I am thinking, AND need addvice if my logic is OK, the issue will be at Red Line, so if I drop the MAX RPM, to say 6000, that will be my red line, i should get more power on the lower end, which should help with take off,

i will add an extra intecooler for the supercahrger , in front of Main radiator instead of the AC radiator, as my AC not working anyway LOL

also will add a BOSH elecktric wter cuirckulation pump to the intercooling system,

NEXT i will tryto lose 100KG of the car, spare tyre, speaker in boot, carpets , boot trim, anything I can find that not necesary during day, to day, i dont use my trunk anyway, ....

I am also thinking of removing the CATs, and geting constant signal on the lambda O2 sensor, not to triger the CEL light,

expecting 15-20% extra torque, maybe a 1 sec, faster time to 200 yards mark, and will see if engine holds up,...

Any thoughs <<?/? ideas

I am thinking of redoing the back end exhaust boxes, more sound, more power, less weight by about 10Kg.

any input from you guys wellcome

I would suggest pulley plus a reputable tune (like velocity) which many on here have used with real success.
Then I would go on a diet - lots of weight you can shed. Look at lighter forged wheels. There is a thread on here for lightweight rotors (on the f type forum). If you want to get fancy you could switch out the v heavy battery for a super light Li Ion etc.

Then look at your tires and how you are launching. Getting the power down is a real challenge with that much hp on a RWD. Read around what others have done on track days with some real success for how to launch

Good luck. Post back how you are doing and the level of improvement

I plan to start modifying my car soon but it is so hard to find information

Has anyone here actually done upper and lower pulley together? I think I only found one person who did the lower pulley alone and he said the car was a complete animal. I am also doing research on the additional cooler inline, there is room for one even with the ac. you can also add 2 small fans to them that operate of a temp sensor or run with the pump.

OK, started sheding the weight in the Back,, know its not the best place, but easy, lol, got rid of the boot floor and the boot base speaker, the sound still good, !! and about 20KG gone, put ina smaller battery as well,

i will post picks soon, .....

spoke to Paramount performance in UK, will talk with the Jag expert there tomorow and hopefully sort out a diferent lower and upper pulley.

also starting to make preperations on increesing the intercooling capacity, I see no point in swithcing the original cooler for a litle better one for 1500USD, when i can just fit a universal one as addition , !! and will be more eficient and will set me back around 400USD , and 100USD for pump.

something like this , I think 16L A min, should be ok,

I have played with watermeth in the past on other projects. we will need some way to tune for it. The problem is once you are tuned for it then your dependent on it. I wish our ecu was more adaptable to use varying mix of e85 /e50/e30 ect automatically

For the inline heat exchanger this is all I could find

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-grill-197192/
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...r-loop-194915/

I pmed the author and he gave me this info on the core he picked [24"x3.5"x3.5"] "That one is about 4-6" too long. I either have to trim part of the sub frame, where the 2 eyelets are behind the front bumper, for it to fit, or get one that is not as long"

As soon as I have some time from work I will take the bumper off and measure to fit a core in the bottom or top and fabricate some brackets and go with the benz pump. I would also like to do some datalogging to see the difference in cooling before upgrading the pulleys.

I too do plan on doing both upper and lower.

Much better to get some serious drag tires mounted to a spare set of wheels that you take to the track in the trunk of the car along with a hydraulic jack and mount them onsite in few mins.

my cooler , pump, fans and hoses are on the way, will provide picks once it comes in,

just making arangments for the puleys , up and down,

i will try making sure the intercoolers are as cold as posible, this is what the meth injection does, cool the air, this way dont need to keep depending on the meth water mix,

curently running max 0.65Bar boost even at 150mph, so also thinking of redoing the intake on the forced inductionl......

will post picks of that also.

will look for some drag tyrss also, need to find some fat rims.

You're taking that massive front number plate off the front while you're at the track right?
