Default XFR diff oil

Hi all,

I've just bought my first jaguar, a 2009 XFR with 85,000 miles, and currently doing some servicing!

I'm planning on changing transmission fluid/sump filter and final drive/diff oil but I can't find any information on what type of oil should go in the diff!

So my question is what is the correct grade/type of oil should I put in the electronic limited slip diff??

I Don't have a local jag dealer, rang one up but wouldn't give me the spec!

Cheers, Dan

P.s. Love the car!! Unfortunately so does the wife.....and she wants me to buy her one!

For anyone else who may be interested I found out the Correct oil...

Castrol BOT 720 75w90

Just like the Engine oil its only available direct from the dealer at approx. £60 Per Litre

Good news is Land Rover use the same oil in the Electronic LSD
Part No. LR019727 which is LESS then half the price of Jaguar!

Cheers, Dan

Usually til it starts to run out of the fill hole. Or that's how all other diffs have been that I've worked on.

I used just over a litre, 1.2 - 1.3

I had a noisy diff which was the reason for the change (rumble), It could be felt most when starting from a standstill, going uphill and turning. When I bought the car the seller told me (after paying!) the tires rubbed on full lock...which they don't. It did sound like a rubbing tire though.

The noise/rumble has gone completely now!

NOTE - the oil mentioned above is for the E-diff, not a standard diff or LSD.
