Default XFR vs XFR-S Dampers/Struts

I just ordered the Spires sport lowering springs for my XFR and in talking to Matt from Spires, he mentioned the spring rates are based off of the OEM XFR-S springs, but will provide ~20mm drop on the XFR. I am replacing the rubber boots the springs will sit on all four corners.

This got me thinking about replacing the dampers with the ones from XFR-S, but looking at the online Jaguar parts list, the same part number is listed for both the XFR/XFR-S dampers/struts. I was under the impression they used different dampers because the XKR and XKR-S actually have different part numbers for the dampers and I believe even the color of the dampers is green on the XKR and yellow on the XKR-S.

So the XFR-S uses the same dampers as the XFR with different CATS tuning?

Although I could be wrong, upon initial research, it looks like the dampers might be the same, just with the adaptive settings reprogrammed (firmer in both their baseline and Dynamic settings on the XFR-S).

However, while the dampers might be the same, the coil springs appear to be different, with the XFR using part# C2Z11479 vs XFR-S using part #C2Z25905. According to the press releases, the XFR-S springs appear to be stiffened 30-40 percent compared with the XFR. I don’t know if the XFR-S springs are also shorter, but I’d assume they might be a tad shorter, too, along the lines of standard XF springs being ~5mm taller than the XFR springs which are ~5mm taller than the XFR-S springs.

Can anyone confirm or refute for clarification? Thanks.

Any chance you have the part numbers for the XFR-S dampers? I'm about to pull the trigger on the "XFR-specific" springs from Spires, so am curious about a few things.

XFR dampers are green in color, whereas XFR-S are yellows

Appreciate your response! I ended up just buying an XFR-S instead of changing the dampers on the XFR
