Whether or not you get floods locally doesn't matter; vehicles that are totaled in floods all over the country & beyond are shipped out of the areas & sent to auctions where people aren't as sensitive and aware of the risk of flooded vehicles at auctions.
We see car carrier tractor trailers hauling cars across the country regularly.
yes I did but it wasn’t an insurance auction. It was bought from an impound auction. Guy who owned it drove it regularly and lived locally.

Understood - from one of your first posts about it we thought it was from an insurance auction...

Question Trying to Make 2 Keys for XJLWhat's up guys, Just need a little help. I just purchased a XJL Portfolio from an Insurance auction but they didn't have the keys so I have no key what so ever for it. I'm trying to see if I can use SDD to make 2 new Keys even if I can't put the car into the on position. And I do not want to go to a locksmith as the cheapest quote I got was $700 for 2 keys. I already have a dedicated Laptop I use strictly for vehicle programing through ForScan and VCDs. I also ordered a DA Adapter and have a Power Supply rated 12V 20A with adjustable voltage.
"Coincidentally, I believe ours was an "impound" or maybe more so repossessed from a lawyer that had "fallen on hard times", shall we say. Which unfortunate for him, was quite fortuitous for us though.

Your power supply is way too small and has no ripple spec. So I would keep looking.

this isn’t a power supply issue as I’m not programming anything. I already finished the programming I needed.

I know it’s been a few days but I replaced the wiring and that fuse. Car ran fine after than I let it sit up about a week and now it won’t start. When I hit the button it just clicks and that’s it. I can hear the starter try to turn but it doesn’t crank.

initially when I checked it was 5V but I have since charged it to around 12.80V and it still just clicks. It’s like you actually hear the starter try under the hood but nothing. After trying voltage drops to around 12.4V with 1 try. It’s a AGM Battery I bought 3 weeks ago.

Unless it drops quite a bit more during the attempt to start that should be adequate.
