I purchased my 2014 Carnelian
Red XJL last fall. We have been travelling a lot this fall and winter. It has been in the garage on a battery tender for months. So my wife and I finally take it for a long ride. It now has 311 miles on it. Got my first gasoline purchase since the dealer. A distinguished older man in an AMG Mercedes pulled up to the pump opposite mine. Maybe it was my color Jag, or the fact that it was so clean compared to other vehicles on the road, but he couldn't take his eyes off my car. Finally, he calls over and asks...."Wanna Trade?" Made my day. I politely refused explaining that I love the car, and my wife will never give up the massage seats!!
The XJL is really a stunning car. I can't believe how low it looks and how well it hides its size in person. I really wish I was in a financial position to afford both my XKR and an XJL like yours!
Superb, always nice to get compliments on the car.
Recently I've been either walking away from or back to my car and have a happy smile inwardly as I watch people walk past, staring, even looking backwards to check it out again....lol
And the only car that I've ever owned that got more attention was a '05 Bentley GT Coupe (in '08). That car was only 3 years old and much rarer than they are now. The Bentley used to stop traffic.
I get so many stares and compliments on this Jag, especially with the Forgiatos, it is ridiculous. I can't ever get gas without a conversation about the car. I was just at a bar Friday and had a very cute woman walk up to me sitting in the car as I was about to leave, and introduce herself to me with a "nice car" icebreaker.
I'll let you know soon if my Jag played a good wingman for me. But I have to admit, no car attracted more females than the Bentley.
Anyone can drive a Jag, not so much for a Bentley, was the perception.

These are beautiful automobiles, fun to drive, and an overall exciting experience.
Was filling up w/ gas this morning and the gas attendant asked several questions and said he's noticed me driving it; said he likes the profile of this automobile. Last week the wife and I went to a local restaurant. We sat near windows and could look out at the automobile and boy, the people going past and staring, pointing, and making comments; almost a little embarrassing, but we were enjoying it to the max.
Mine is a 2012 XJL-Portfolio (8100 miles). I think the interior color is the same as yours; the exterior is called Claret (red). I'm now getting ready to go to the store. Could drive one of the other vehicles but it's just a nice day and just want to get back into that XJL (without the wife) and turn up the sound system, and listen to some of my jazz through the speakers in this automobile via cellphone bluetooth.
Happy for you and your 2014 XJL-be careful and enjoy the experience.
That caviar really is a lovely colour. There's one driving around in the same office estate that I work in, which I see frequently.
I'm probably biased, but I think the 'L' looks more 'right' than the SWB car. The curve of the roofline into the C pillar looks much more organic. For me, it's the best design detail on the car.
I took my eldest daughter (10 years old) and two friends to a birthday party today. These girls were the only girls there, so the car park outside was a frenzy of boys getting ready to shoot each other in the woods. One of the boys clocks my car and starts going on about it. "You came in a Jaguar? A Jaguar???"
Emma's kinda getting used to it, but the other girls were clearly keen on the car.
"Yeah," says one of Emma's friends. She leaves it a few seconds before saying "And it's really fast."
At that point, it seemed time to fire up the V8 and take my leave of them.

The XJL sure turns heads, and draws many favorable comments.
I like your wheels and the fact their center medallions match your car's color.
But ya gotta get some dressing on those tires so they match your roof's glass and rear quarter panels.

More than just tire dressing, i think tinting the windows would achieve the look you're after. Probably the only thing i'd do to this lovely car.
Thank you for your advice. I am just now starting to use the car.....300 miles now. The winter was so bad, it just sat in the garage. I have been using our X type all winter since it is all wheel. Besides tire dressing, window tint, I am adding sport pedals, F Type dead pedal, splash guards already installed. Mina lower SS mesh intakes, and Custom Colored MGP Caliper Covers

Very good choices; happen to parallel mine almost identically, except my XJL is metallic Caviar; more a burgundy than a claret, although I will be using Claret caliper covers like yours for a little contrast. I only tinted the rear and rear quarter windows to give it a more limo look. I'm resisting the Mina XJ lower corner mesh grills for now.
