Default Painted C-Pillars with pics

I decided to paint the c-pillars on my car to match the body color. I think the effect is more pronounced on lighter color cars but I'm still pleased with the look.

I made a rookie mistake and didn't check the paint code for my car and assumed it was British Racing Green. I made this mistake because the website for touchup paint only has one (dark) green listed for 2012 XJ's AS DOES the Jaguar product manual--both of these list British Racing Green (BRG). I also assumed my car was BRG because it's a super sport which I thought was a special color for that model. Well, I was wrong, my car is not BRG, its Taiga green. The colors are so similar that it was only after I'd sprayed the c-pillars and laid them next to the car did I notice the difference. Once I got the correct color I was pleased with the match--even with a butt match like I've done.

FYI, I bought a spare set of c-pillars in case I didn't like the look and sprayed those with the British Racing Green color. So if you have a BRG XJ and want to color match the c-pillars I've got a set ready to go.

For future reference the paint code and trim codes are on the VIN sticker in the drivers door jam.

it looks good! i find myself going back and fourth, loving and hating the black C pillars. I think it would have made more sense if it seamlessly molded with the c-pillar window, without that chrome strip getting in between

I agree completely about the chrome strip. Without that, the look of continuous glass would've been accomplished.

I bought an Ultimate Black X351 precisely so I wouldn't have to address this issue!
