Default Start / Stop Button replacement fail

2014 XJL 3l Petrol

I have replaced the start / stop button with a OEM button and the car refuses to accept it. I took the button back and Jag verified it is the correct part by vin.
I get 3 codes, button illumination, starting circuit A fault and starting circuit B fault. If i put the old button back all is good.
Looking at the data streams circuit A and B numbers are in the 50's with the old button but high 70-80s with the new one.

Any ideas?

That sucks. What made you change it in the first place?

I would just swap out the pretty parts from the "new" switch to the old one.
