Hi All,
My car is a 2017 XJ 5.0 S/C. Problem is the windshield washer does not squirt water out of the jets on the wiper arms. It squirts great for the headlamp washer part, so the pump operates. Here's what I've done to troubleshoot: 1) Blown out all of the rubber lines supplying the jets. 2) Cleaned the jets themselves. I can get a good flow of air through the lines and washer jets. So, next, I disconnected the main rubber line which supplies both washer jets under the plastic cowling. I then attached a longer length of rubber line so I could operate the pump and see if fluid was even coming out of the pump and its not. Weird, it flows out of the headlamp washers, but nothing going to the windscreen washers. Any ideas?

They have separate pumps in the fluid reservoir (see items 2 and 8):



You've eliminated blocked lines and jets so it has to be a failed pump or power connection.

I cannot see an image on your post. Do you have a link I could open in a separate window? Also, is the reservoir accessed via the passenger wheel well?

Problem solved. I removed the inner fender lining, removed the pump and found the filter totally clogged with debris: mainly congealed washer fluid. Once that was cleared, everything is good as new
