Default 04 XJ8 AC Compressor Removal

Hello again, I was removing the bolt that connects the serpentine belt tensioner to the engine and the bolt was very stuck and broke. Basically I couldn't remove it and bought s new mount and cant get the air conditioning compressor off to take the mount off, does anybody know how many bolts I should be looking for and where, or just any advice? Also is it possible to do it without raising the engine as I've read?

Thank you

For one, you have to raise the engine.

Hi xj804,

If I recall correctly, there are three mounting bolts, two near the pulley, one on top and one on bottom, and one on the far end.

You don't say whether your car is LHD or RHD or which engine you have, but assuming its a LHD with the 4.2L engine, the instructions begin on pdf page 117 of the Electrical section of the Workshop Manual, which you can download here:

Cheers,

Don

Yes, you are correct it is the 4.2l LHD and this is exactly what I needed. I will get onto it as soon as I wake up. Thank you very much!
