Default Airbag Flash Code 17

So mine flashes once, pauses, the flashes 7 times. Error #17. What do you make of that code #?

I don't think the X308 passive restraint systems here in the US uses a flash code.

Are you sure you have the X308 model? (1998-2003)

Might want to start a new thread instead of dragging up one from 4 years ago.

Thanks Motorcarman. My bad in wrong thread posting and no car signature information. As my teachers always said, "read the instructions first....". Still learning.

Hi Bt,

I have moved your posts to the X350/X358 forum, assuming you are inquiring about your 2008 XJ8L, though I'm still not certain you have made that clear.

Cheers,

Don

I doubt the cancellation module (or clockspring) has anything to do with the fault.

Passenger spatial sensing (Occupancy Position)
CAN circuit fault
Flash code 17

Here are some DTC guides.

Sure that you know more about it than me.
When mine was flashing, one, & seven, it was the clock spring

I'm just going by the DTC guide.
Passenger spatial sensing (Occupancy Position) is for the passenger side airbag deployment.
I did not read ALL the possibilities related to 'flash-code' 17.
Sometimes a flash code can have multiple faults and the actual NUMBER in the module will be more specific.
Flash codes can be very general as there are dozens of DTCs for the SRS.
