The foam I used is that split foam used for insulating pipes. You can get it at most hardware stores like Home Depot or other places. Here are the pictures you asked for. Foam in tab openings Push in insulation tab and foam into opening Section of foam cut to width of opening
I replaced my hood insulator/liner a few months back with an authentic one ordered by Harper Jaguar Knoxville, fixed all of my problems. I had the same exact spot problem where the tabs were no longer holding it in.
The replacement is worth it, they updated the design so that it better holds itself in place using the clips. Here is the part number: "C2C32839". My replacement ran me about $300 and an afternoon of engine bay detailing.
