Default Entering a British Car Day

I am entering my '04 VDP in a local British Car Day next weekend. Not that my car is a show quality or anythng, but the ticket price for two people is the same entering the car. So why not? I think it could get a peoples choice award for the color combo, but that's it.

Any tips? My corgi will add some to the Britishness of it all.

Haha, that is cute about the corgi.

I wish I could enter my car in an event near here!

That's the event at Larz Anderson. Have you ever been there before. The place is perfect for a car meet, nice lawn and you must go thru the museum. I went once when I had my first Jaguar around the early '90s. I want to attend when they have the Ford, Lincoln & Mercury Day and drive my '48 Lincoln Continental there. I've tried in the past but weather or other club events seem to change my plans.

I have been to several car events there before, but never as an entrant.

In the museum they have one of M. Schumacher's Ferrari F1's. Pretty sure it is from the V10 era too.

Do you know if you can bring alcohol to the event? Wouldn't mind a beer or port tonic while sitting around for 4+ hours. We're planning a picnic basket either way.

I have entered my Jags in many car shows. My XJ8 got first in class in one show! Neither one has got less than second.

hlgeorge, how good of shape would you say your Jags are in? Would you consider them "show" quality?

My 04 XJ8 is in #1 as new condition. Still smells like a new car inside. (32K miles)
My 01 XKR is in #2 condition. (62K miles)

HMmmm.... so I guess I would never be able to win at a Jag show! My XJ isn't in "new" condition, but I suppose that's subjective!

My girlfriend is looking for the right Sunday hat. I hope the weather is good. I cleaned under the hood and engine the other day.
