Arrow Installing Cassette Tape Deck In Order To Get Auxiliary Input On X350 ?

Can you install a Cassette Tape Deck from the X-Type or S-Type in order to get the Auxiliary Input with the Cassette to Aux Cable ? Im interested in getting a X350 and trying to find a way to get Aux Input to play music this way. Will this work ? Thanks

The radio (with tape or CD) is unique to the X350, you can't fit an X-Type or S-Type one.

There are several options for AUX input on these cars, it really depends on what you are starting out with.

It appears that the X-Type or S-Type Cassette tape deck is a direct fitment for the X350 just swapping out the CD deck.

The UK X350 had a Cassette Tape Deck Option I believe. The real question is where to find that part ?

They are pretty much worthless, if you call a Jag wrecker in the UK they would practically give it away I reckon. Then it's just the shipping cost to the US.

If you get one from the UK you will need to have it reprogrammed to the North American frequency specification.

I did the opposite with my XJR, it had a tape deck in it, and I put in a CD player that I bought from a wrecked US-spec XJ8, it had to be reprogrammed.

But frankly speaking, what you want is known as an ACM. Audio Connectivity Module. Not so easy to find these days though.

Or maybe go for Veffremov's bluetooth module, lets you stream music via bluetooth.

To Cambo's point, the Bluetooth box is what you want. It Yale's all of 20 mins to install & sounds exact to the/a CD...

Depending on the fitment of a double DIN frame, (will have to refinish with piano black) I think I'm going to retro a non-amplified, non-cd changer, non-navigation XJ8 (mine) with a double DIN Pioneer APP replacement. We'll see how it goes. (SDD can change the option to not look for radio)

Go with a Venbox, and never have to look back. You will NEVER get good sound with the "aux in" from the headphone jack of a phone/Ipod. Headphone "out is for headphones, and you'll notice "missing" alot of the sound in the music. It's a lot of info to this, but in a nutshell, the DAC in your phone/Ipod is not made to be processed twice. Once in the phone, and again in the head unit. They dont play well together in laymans terms. Cant go into the process here, but with the Venbox, just signal is sent to the headunit, then processed. This is not like the old days of simple analog.
Marque is spot on with his discription, and install times. Also this is totally reverseble and you can put it in your next Jag too.
Also, I dont work for Veffremov, just a greatfull customer.
