My rear sensors had become randomly unusable because of a continuous beeeeep so I removed the

rear bumper and placed the sensors and wiring on the crash bar then:

Ign on

Reverse selected

Park brake on

Forunately the system was faulty at the time so I started to subtitute each sensor with a 'new' one and on the second one the beeping stopped and all sensors were working.

It sounds easy but it took about 4 hours altogether to repair and put all the bits back.

BTW Anyone had any experience with the $6 Chinese sensors?

 

I had a fault in the front sensors, it is possible to find the faulty sensor by getting your ear almost touching each sensor in turn, if they are working, there will be a very light "clicking", the faulty sensor will be silent. I found my front left centre sensor to be silent, changed it out and all working fine. Took me about 5 minutes to change it out.

 

I have never heard the clicking or the light pulsing on my sensors hence have to remove rear bumper
and use the substitution method.

 

It really is a very light clicking, barely audible, I had to get on my knees and almost had my ear touching the centre of the sensor to hear it, It's one of those sound that until you actually hear it, you are not sure if you are hearing it. If the engine is running, it might even be enough to drown out the sound at the rear. I switched on the ignition, but didn't start the engine, put the car in reverse and that's when I could hear it.

 

Aren't the Ford sensors the same size and much lower price? I read that on this forum or the X150, don't recall which but the author said as much. Should be worth investigating I would think.
