Replacing both wheel bearings
Would you walk me thru replacing both wheel bearings on my 2004 XJ8 (aluminum body) as an expert Jaguar mechanic/owner assured me. I too have an on going rumble up front when traveling on less than smooth roads ( he also said check out the possibility for brake replacement).
ALSO!, something strange occurred yesterday to my wife. The car when moving just started undulating from seemingly all four wheels like a "LOWrider" bean-O mobile with air activated shocks. After pulling over, turning off the JAG & restarting it just quit doing it. And I mean a very pronounced rock-n-rolling ride. She said her ***** were"JOGGING" uncontrollably. Has the computer suspension gone brain crazy or something?

Hayden, the front wheel bearings on the X350 is a type III design, where the hub itself is also the bearing race. These are simple unbolt/bolt-on replacements. You would remove the wheel, then the brake caliper, then the brake caliper mount, and then the disk, and then the bolts holding it to the knuckle. Reverse for installation. Also note you will want to remove the inner fender well cover, as the speed sensor lead will need to be changed with the bearing assembly.

The hub/bearing replacement is normally straightforward, but some owners have had difficulty because the old hub was seized in the vertical link due to galvanic corrosion between the steel hub and aluminum link. It can help to apply penetrating oil around the back side of the hub for a few days before you do the replacement. To prevent seizing from recurring, apply anti-seize compound to the new hub and inside the link bore before installing the hub. For steel-to-aluminum junctions, nickel- or zinc-based anti-seize is preferable to copper-based.

I have been reading this forum for 8/9 years and I have never read of anything similar-sorry.
Personally I would inspect the valves and wiring in the boot ( possible water ingress), the level sensors and wiring on each wheel, the little plugs and wires
at the top of each strut and the connection at the air suspension module behind the rear seat which is a bit of a PITA to remove.
If it does it again I can only suggest a complete reflash by a dealer.
