Default Transmission 3-4 squak - multiple flushes done, at wit's end

I've read the write ups and technical bulletins for this issue.

When I first bought the car I performed a transmission flush and replaced the filter/pan, Squawk still there.
I perform another fluid change a few 1000 miles later and the noise persists as before.
I have been using ZF lifeguard 6.

I'm not sure what else I can do besides find a liter of the 'liquid gold' additive.. Ive read the new formulation of ZF LG6 has this additive mixed in, but judging from my experience, Im not sure this is true!

Im curious what others have done to remedy this annoying issue

You might try a TCM 'CLEAR ADAPTATIONS' and drive the car gently for a few hundred miles????

The TCM might have 'learned' bad habits??

I spoke to a jag tech about this, and he told me if you dont have any harsh shifting, clearing the adaptations wont do anything for the squawk..

I am curious about trying it though. problem is I dont have the adapter or software

Perhaps its time to source the liquid gold additive and try that..

Google 'JTB00070NASF', a Jaguar Technical Service Bulletin (a PDF) which describes this and tells you how to use the official Jag (ie ZF) additive, which is Jag part no. C2C 37157

After much thought, I realize I may want to try a transmission reset

The shifting when cold can be kind of clumsy.
I have the fluctuating RPMS at steady speed when warming up too.

I believe that the latest TCM reflash might fix some of these minor issues.

Let us know if you find any of that magic juice!
I was told it's obsolete and is included in Lifeguard6 fluid now as you posted.

Whatever you do, you wont fix the tranny hunting on warm-up syndrome as it is part of the TCM software. If Jaguar would release the source code I'm sure this syndrome could be sorted out for everybody in about 5 minutes !

I got a little "squawking" and fluctuating RPM after I had been driving in sport mode for a while, then switched back to normal. After a couple of miles it stopped & has been fine ever since. I'm assuming then, that this was the TCM adapting to my driving style/gearbox mode?

Hmm,
Maybe an adaptation clear would benefit me.

I'll see how much the local jag guy wants. If its too much I may just get the adapter and hunt down a good version of the IDS or SDD..

If you get ANY interface other than a Rotunda type VCM, you will need SDD version 125 ONWARD. IDS will NOT work with the mongoose type interfaces.

SDD should revert to Legacy IDS if you need it.

Default This guy seems to know his ZF's

It looks like he answers questions too. Website is full of info. Don't let the BMW info fool you he's talking about the ZF 6HP specifically.

The guy sort of scares me when he says the only way to fix awkward shifting is to replace the valve body or solenoids!

I would certainly like to follow the Jaguar TSB's first and see how that works out.
