The trunk stopped working out of the blue on my 2004 vandenplas. Keyless trunk release doesnt work, button inside vehicle driver side does not open it either. The green Jaguar button on the trunk doesnt open it. However, the key in the hidden key hole does. What fuse is applicable to the trunk closer?

 

You may want to look at the posting by "Lagonia': X350 Trunk Latch Actuator - Bench Test? dated 12/17; may provide some answers to your problem. This is exactly the problem I had too.

I bet the self close doesn't work either and you have to slam it hard to close the trunk, if so then a new latch mechanism is the only way around this as the unit is sealed.

 

Trunk/boot actuators have a limited life and are not easy to repair.

 

New ones require programing, or a simple replacement?

 

No programing. L bought a used one Ebay several years ago, still working fine. Although my problem was not opening.

 

It's usually the nylon gears that strip but there is a massive rivet holding it all together so actually getting that far is a PITA. Then there are no parts to fix it so bin fodder it is.
