Default Wheel ideas '06 VDP

Anyone go aftermarket and keep with an 18" size? I was looking at 19"s and tires are considerably more affordable for 18"s and 20"s, but I have no interest going the way of the super low profile tire for the cheaper 20". I've done enough of that in the past and have no interest in ruining my ride quality. I am just not a fan of overtly obvious non OEMs and I don't care much for the factory 20? spoke wheels my car came with. Coventry seems to make nice wheels that with Jaguar center caps attached look darn near OEM, but I've only seen pictures of 19"+ wheels on XJs from them. Anyone have pictures/wheel suggestions that would accomplish what I'm after? I'm not trying to keep my current tires. I am buying new tires and think I'd still prefer 18"s. Even if the factory center caps don't fit, I'll be able to fabricate something from my current caps to work. I don't mind 20 spoke wheels, but the factory ones just look so flat and don't have a lip to define them.

Also Torrid, from the Forums drop down above, select Brand reviews and there is a wheels and tires section.

Those look great. I wouldn't know from looking at it that they weren't the original wheels. Exactly what I'm going for.

You can fit factory 18's from the XF, X150 XK and the new X351 XJ as well, but only if you take the fronts from those cars at put them at all four corners. So that might also give you some options for the OEM look.

I didn't even think of that, nice. I'll broaden my search.

How does it affect the ride? They look excellent, I'm just concerned about going up to a 20".

I'm about to pull the trigger on the 18" Coventry Whitleys. They look very similar to the Tucanas, but with a polished lip. The only tire options I see for 19"s are either very expensive or appear to be cheap no names, while the factory 235/50 18"s have many well known options for under $180 a tire. I'll probably go with Hankook Ventus. It's what I just put on the S-Type not long ago.

Look into Niche Wheels, their sport series is very affordable. And they have a couple of good options that will fit X350's depending on if you want 18", 19", or 20". Here is mine on 20s.

I ended up going with the 18" Coventrys with 235/50 Hankook Ventus S1 tires. Coventry recommends 255s on the 8.5" wide wheel, but I didn't want the ballooned tire look I had on my GTO with 245s on an 8" wide wheel. I ordered green Jaguar center caps to complete the look.

I'm running 19x9 and 19x10 Tobias (stock '10+ XJ wheels) on my '08 XJR (without spacers) and they look really nice (gives the car a good M5 stance, which on a black R fits it perfectly IMO). Ride is really reasonable as well. 275/40's in the rear and 245/45 up front.

Is there a reason you didn't go with 255/40/19 in the front? Isn't that the factory 19 size?

Not sure actually, they were on the wheels already?? I think even with slightly wider rubber, a spacer up front (5-10mm) would look much better.

Do you know the offset of front and rear wheels? Any rubbing in the rear with the 10" wheel?

Unsure on offset yet, but no rubbing, they fit great:
