4L80-E gasket - Purchase?
I purchased a transmission filter kit from Autozone and tried to install the included gasket but I guess there are different variants of the 4L80-E gaskets and the one I purchased was for a different type so I have a leaking transmission pan.
I'm wondering where everyone purchases their gaskets from that are made specifically for the Jaguar 4L80-E pan.
Looks like that one I need is this
Which is more rectangular than the one I bought
Is the Jaguar specific gasket available in regular autoparts stores like Autozone or Oreilly's?

All the autoparts stores list the ZF kit for the XJR. Go ask for kit for Chevy Tahoe or Avalanch like 98-00 model and it will say 4L80E. I had same thing happen. You get to make them look like dummies when you tell them that I tried all the major stores and they were all wrong but those Chevy's have same tranny, the new seal looked worse than the one I bought so I reused the old seal and put the new filter in. I forgot to do this on mine but cut open your old filter to see if there are any particles inside. It will trap most so you won't see much in the pan unless you're in bad shape.
TLR Nothing special as far as the seal or filter is concerned regarding this 4L80E so just ask for 4L80E seal.

Mine has one of those reusable gaskets so I've never faced this problem....so I can't help.
Some of the transmission parts specialists show a Jag-specific 4L80E pan gasket. You might have to buy from one of them. There likely isn't enough demand for this gasket for the typical franchise-type parts stores to supply it via their normal supply/distribution network.
Cheers

I called an oreilly auto parts earlier and they told me they have the gasket. Hopefully it's the correct Jaguar one or else I am going to have to order online.

The one I removed from my transmission pan was this shape..
And the ones I can pick up from any regular autoparts store (Autozone, Oreilly's, Pepboys) is this shape
but they all say this fits the 97 XJR
Both claim to be 4L80-E with nothing saying they're different. Is there a VIN specification for the different pans? The last six of my VIN is 792115
This website shows the differences and lists the specifications for each gasket
4L80E, 4L85E Gaskets & O rings Transmission Parts
Are you saying your pan uses the more common one Chattanooga_XJR ?

Because a friend was looking for this gasket and I hit this thread as part of looking for it. So adding this for archival use:
NatProNet.com appears to make the duraprene bonded gasket under PN 33170J: https://www.natpronet.com/trans/4L80E.pdf
