Default auto trans warning light on

hi all, half way home today the auto trans warning light came on. i did notice the gear changes were a bit rough. when i got home i put about 600mls of fluid in and took it for a drive. gear changes seemed to be ok but light still on. does it need more fluid or is it something else.

There will be DTCs in the TCM (Transmission Control Module).
I suggest reading the codes and diagnosing from there.
A regular OBDII reader will not access the gearbox module.

Hi, I have read quite a few posts about the electrical connector on the back of the gearbox causing dash light on and harsh shifting, the harness doesn’t have much play in it and as the engine/gearbox rear mount gets old the gearbox will move around more.

I'm planning to change mine as the Bush and spring are still available and not too many £££/$$$$ in the grand scheme of these cars
