Default Double din in an X300?

Has anyone ever fitted a double din head unit to an X300? I quite fancy a nice satnav unit but have tried a single din unit with slide out 7" screen but when the screen tilted up, it hit the clock and aircon units so had to get rid of that

It's a single DIN space, the laws of physics say a unit double that size would not fit without heavy modification of the rest of the center console controls.

I have had mine apart many times. Not much space in there, I really doubt two would be feasible. You could mount something just below and to the right of the steering column though. I put my mp3 player there.

I know but i was thinking, if the clock is removed, Hazard and headlight dip switch relocated (maybe into the ski slope?) there might be enough room. I just didnt know if anyone knew of any kits that would make the job abit easier

I was staring at mine yesterday and thought the same thing. My clock does not work and it is really hard to find another one. so if you cut out the top slot to allow for the double din mounting and relocated the lock and hazard switches, would that work?

Well, it doesnt look like there is an aftermarket option so thats what i intend on trying. Im keeping an eye out for a spare plastic bracket that all the centre units are attached to and a spare 'ski slope' so i can try it.

When i do, il post to let you all know how it went
