Default Impossible to get to remote learning mode.

Previous started the thread about alarm problems,
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...orking-199465/

It seemed to be non working key fob. So replaced batteries and the remote started to work.
I had a spare one broken, so took it to the electrics repair and repaired the spare fob.

The problem that the new fob does not operate. I tried to program it according to instructions, but the car doesn't go to learning mode after sequence of required programming operations.

What could be wrong and how in other way is possible to program the second remote control.

I tried many times but still no effort for a car to get to learning mode.

Two things did you put the key in the hole and lock and unlock, sometimes it resets the program. Also disconnect the battery from the car wait 30 seconds and reprogram. Your not getting any code on the radio?

I tried it in many ways, also tried to reset with disconnecting the battery.

Basically open the car with working remote, leave door open , open the trunk, start ignition position 2, wallet key 5 times and nothing happens.

Radio code i don't know since there is no OEM radio in my car. Its Sony aftermarket.

RB_Jaguar -- are you using one 2032 battery in your remote?
Or two 2016 batteries?

Saw some references to this in your other post.

This may just be a language issue but when you say the "Wallet Key" I assume you mean the Valet Key

The process involves the Valet Switch - this is the small switch under the arm rest in the centre console - Is that what you are using?

If it is then you should first check that the Valet Switch actually operates correctly for it's normal function (See the owners manual).

The switch has been known to be non functional as wires are broken or disconnected. Presumably from previous work on the centre console.

Yes I mean Valet key . And yes I'm using this switch. Probably this is what Im gonna check first. Meanwhile also I think its worth to look for somebody to have Jaguar soft to program it, but thats an issue where I live.

The CR2032 is wrong as it has 3 Volts. I used 2x CR2016 3Volts = 6Volts

I would try the XJS method...

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...996-xjs-37632/

The two wires that we tap together is essentially what the valet SWITCH would do if our cars had them...some of them do, I believe, but it's rare.

If you're still having trouble, I would also recommend NOT using the valet KEY.

Ahhhhhh its been 20 years but, you might have an issue with the aftermarket radio ad the receiver.
Ask your local dealer.....
I might be on to something as radio codes and other codes if running correctly would go through the RADIO.
Just another hunch, does your clock work?
In those day systems went through the clock for timing lights and other things, if the clock was broken which they did, it screwed up a lot of things.
Sounds crazy and primitive but true....
Good luck

rb update.......I was right. check you clock.
If its dead or funky its the cause, theres a feed off the clock for the security system and heated seats and timing lights.
Had to blow the dust off the book.
Also turn on your lights and hazards if they don't work, they are all connected......

I don't know, the clock yes has some issues but everything works perfect on the car, lights , hazard lights - no problem at all. Well has some ignition problems but thats other story, otherwise all good.

Probably I will start with Valet switch issues, and will look for a Jaguar dealer soft.

Its your clock my friend. It runs and times cycles , the alarm is tied into the cycle. Look up a schematic.
They are cheap to find.
IMHO and from my past. try it.
Good luck

See link below for FOB issues , the clock is something new to me .

Do you get a light on your FOB as you press a switch ?

FOBs are fully operational. As mentioned before, i have one working one and had a spare one which was broken.

So I decided to repair the second one and program it, to have 2 fobs.
I took it to car alarm repair shop ad they repaired it, checked with equipment, FOB works but is not programed to the car.

My concern is that if I force program it and something goes wrong, I can loose the working one.
