Hi folks, I was removing my clock in my 1995 X300 and when I got the ashtray out there's a small part lying underneath that was not attached to anything. On looking at the part (see pic) there's a number on the plastic gear (1381) and a triangular indentation on the opposite surface with a plastic cover that dropped down between my seat (will have to fish for this). Does anyone know what this part is and does it belong to my car.

Does the ashtray cover open and close smoothly? What about the cupholder in the armrest? The cupholder is notorious for breaking, it could be a gear off that.

The inertia damper below the long spring ?

If you look at the small round disk below the long spring with the 2 tabs the item in your pic is encapsulated inside this plastic 2 tab housing

THX everyone it is indeed the part from the cup holder, I had replaced it several years ago and I didn't notice that the gear had fallen off the old part.
