The "600" tread life rating is unusually high for a low profile tire. That's good!
The load rating of "96" is a tad on the low side, though. I think original spec was "98"

For what it's worth, I put 2 of these (Goodyear Eagle GT (V)) on the back of my car, and they've lasted well so far. They've also been quiet, and good on grip. If you care, I can check and see how they've lasted, but I can't seem to remember now. On the front, I've got some Coopers that are pretty horrible in the wet.
We replaced the Pirellis our car came with with kuhmo ecastas and has been very happy. Nice ride and much quieter. They seem to be wearing great and perform well in the limited winter weather we have used the car in.
i have these on both my XJ40 and my X300 and I'm satisfied, they grip well, seem to be lasting a long time, reasonably quiet and not too bad on price. I've had them for about 2 years now

I have Falkans Z912 on my x300. Got them for a great price at tires plus. Paid $575 for all 4 tires, mounted balanced, and also have unlimited Rotations and Balances. The tire also has a 60,000 mile prorated warranty.
How does a lot of that tire warranty stuff work? I believe my Goodyears have a 60K warranty too, but they're going bald at the 15-20K mark. It's not horrible all things considered that I need new tires, but if I can get part covered under warranty, that'd be great.
The tire dealer will use a proration chart or formula to determine how much to charge you for the use you got out of the tire. I would expect to pay *about* 30% in your case.
If the tire(s) wore out due to a problem with the car they may give you some flak, and rightfully so.
Cheers

Well,
As an absolute supporter of the Michelin PS/2 on my '04 XJR, I've been shopping the options for this summer season. Pirellis are sticky and wear out too quickly. Michelin's are sticky and seem to last. The good Year's were on the car for 1 day and I'll never buy them again.
I've been down the path of All-Seasons and Summer's only. And quite frankly,All Season's do not maintain its track well enough for me.
So this season (Yes, price point had something to do with it) I am going to try a season with the Continentals ExtremeContact DW.
The dilemma is this:
Car calls for 255/40R19'S. What does the group think of 285/35R19's?
Incidentally I did sell the 20" rims... I got tired of the game of repairing blistered tires and bent rims.
Cheers to All in the Jaguar brotherhood.
Guy.
2001 S-Type R (British Raging Green, of course)
2004 XJR (Jaguar Raging Green)
On a personal note: I had the car completely re-sprayed this winter. 5 coats of colour and 4 coats of clear. The complete tear-down and rebuild shows zero signs of overspray, misfitting parts or orange peel. The car looks better than when it was in the showroom.

I have used the best Michelins appropriate on two Lexus rear-drive sedans, a Porsche Boxster and now an XKR. They are quiet, they last, they perform and they work when the temp gets cold and below freezing. Many performance tires are so bad at 40 degrees it is a joke. And many require getting warm too. For a daily driver, that is pathetic. Need to save $? Fine, then buy the tread from TireRack.com instead of chain like Discount Tire (where the extra $ spent covers lifetime rotation and balance and good accident protection).
Hi,
Just a late reply to this.
Bought 4 new Gerruti 225x60x16 W98 for EUR 320 delivered. Had them fitted / balanced yesterday for EUR 60 + EUR 55 for re-aligning the front.
EUR 435 in all, iss like abt EUR 110 each tire.
If they last me 2 years, that is EUR 55 per tire per year, which I consider inexpensive.
Takeo.

Just put the new Michelin Defenders on all for corners of mine. So far a fantastic tire, quiet and comfortable. They run pretty well at the lowest approved pressure rating (28psi) which I run for comfort.
I have the Kuhmos 235/50/17s on my 95 XJR already done 30,000 K,s on them
They last well and don't tramline as bad as the 255/45/17s Falkens that where on her also quiet Ill get them again
