Powerfold mirrors?

Am I the only one that didn't know our x300 can do this? Does anyone know how to do that? I didn't see it anywhere in the manuals I believe.

Hi, the power fold mirrors are mainly for Japanese market. All X300/308s here in Japan have power fold mirror, which are notorious for being broken easily. In addition, they are unbelievably expensive. So once you experience this mirror broken, you won't want them anymore! lol
My car also had these power fold mirrors but I got tired of them and replace them with non power fold ones that I imported from US.

I've powerfold mirrors on the xjr. I need to fold them in to enter and exit the garage as the doorway aperture is tight. Funny thing is, I've also managed to get the mirrors folding independently of each other although I'm not sure if they are supposed to do that. To be honest I thought this was faulty electrics but I'm not entirely sure - I'd need to spend half an hour flicking the switch to see if they can do it on command and not - as I suspect - randomly.
The rocker button is on the vertical trim, inside the door pocket right behind the windows/mirror direction switches.

Is the wiring all there regardless?
Apologies, I know this is an older thread, but I was wondering if anyone ever verified if the wiring in US spec cars is present for the powerfold mirrors and we simply don't have the correct mirrors, switch and installed relays, etc?
In other words, I wonder if one could buy a set of powerfold mirrors, the correct door switch, and it would be plug-and-play?
I've seen many cars where the manufacturer has all the wiring for various options in place as a cost saving measure even if the car wasn't originally equipped, but in others the wiring is not.... just depends.
BTW, for those that do have the powerfold mirrors and have found them to be unreliable, here is a very interesting thread in the X308 section where an owner has rebuilt the units and made them more robust.

Yeah, unless you REALLY want them, sounds like it would be a big job (time and $) to find the correct door switches, mirrors, then rebuild them so they don't fail.
So, do the non-powered mirror fold manually if one were to bump them hard enough?
The mirrors on my 95 Roadmaster fold in if they are smacked to avoid damage.
I've pushed on the XJR's mirrors lightly, but they seem pretty rigid.

Another part that should have been made out of metal in the first place! Well, at least there appears to be a source for it, for the must-have types. Just like we have a source for CKPS brackets, and good new Japanese coils, right? That's the beauty of the forums.
