Replacing X300 Security & Locking Module

Replacing X300 Security & Locking Module
I have posted elsewhere my problems getting 3 remote fobs to re-program.
Turning my attention to the car itself, I can purchase a new X300 Security & Locking Module (the unit that is in the trunk below the fuel filler) but before I do can someone tell me please if this unit is where the signal from the fob is received and is where the re-programing takes place?
I don't want to replace it only to find it has nothing to do with the remote locking/alarm arming process.
Thanks.

It's been a few years since I was at the dealer and used PDU,WDS,IDS but you might try 'CLEAR LOST KEYFOB TRANSMITTERS' from someone who has a full communication type computer (Jag dealer or shop with dealer computer). The SLCM can hold up to 5 'remotes' but I had to sometimes clear the memory and start from empty. If that fails then I would consider replacing the SLCM.

Thanks Bob.
Since my posting I've found for sale an X300 Key Transponder module - Reader/Exciter ECU. This is different than the module I was originally asking about and seems more relevant to the SLCM. Trouble is I don't know where this ECU is located or if it's the actual problem, so now I'm really confused.
Thanks again.

If I knew where it was located on my X300 (if it's there at all!) I'd have a look at it to see what's written on it to check.
My email to the company advertising the unit has so far (24hrs) gone unanswered which may speak volumes I don't know.
Anyway, thanks again, much obliged for your input.
P.S.
Just had a reply from the company saying that the KTM is the unit which communicates with the key fob remote, and is located behind the dash near to the passenger airbag and may need Jaguar diagnostic equipment to program it to the car.
Sounds troublesome and expensive!
Will have to look for it though just to satisfy my curiosity.

KTM= Key Transponder Module. There is a reader/exciter (Key Transponder Coil LNA2668CA) ring around the ignition key lock barrel and the KTM LNC2665AA is the module itself. These components are for reading TIBBE keys with a transponder built into the key for anti-theft systems. This system was used in the U.S. for the 1998MY and later XK and XJ cars. If the key is not configured to the KTM then the engine will not start. These parts have nothing to do with keyfob transmitters and SLCM. This system is used in some markets around the world on the X300 but not in the U.S.

1996 XJ6 X300 Security ECU
My car broke down recently and after getting an auto electrician to diagnose the problem it was tracked down to a faulty Security ECU (pictures attached).
He found some capacitors had leaked onto the board and caused one of the resistors to fall off. The board has been cleaned and new capacitors fitted, however he is unable to measure the resistance of the resistor as it is no longer on the board and all markings have corroded off the old resistor.
Is anyone able to supply a schematic diagram for this Security ECU which will show the value of the resistor, or even a good quality picture of the circuit board which can help identify the resistor the electrician has circled its location in orange, then hopefully I can get my Jaguar back on the road. Thanks in advance

Hi Federicodeluca,
Thank you so much for this information, it looks like there is another resistor that matches the one we need to replace. If I could ask a favour please. Are you able to measure the resistance with an Ohm meter on the one I have circled in orange.
Cheers,
John
The resistor circled in orange between the 2 capacitors is the one I need the resistance value please. It looks the same as the other one I have circled.
