Default Seriously - used parts

okay, i have started looking up parts and such to get my jag back in top shape...

it is a x300 - 97 - over 100 bucks or a gear shift? Really? there must be a better place to find parts that are a little cheaper...or...

am i totally naive?

You mean the 'knob'? That's just one of those odd little trim parts that seems to be always grossly overpriced.

What else are you after?

well, there is a small black plastic piece that snaps in behind the inner door handle...i think it is cosmetic only but without it you see the inside door panel. it is located behind the handle you use to open the door from the inside. i was also thinking of getting the steering well with the wood trim and get a matching wood trim knob. The last thing is the wood trim door over the cigarette lighter is missing. i need to get a replacment.

Yeah, the wood trimmed wheel is another one that will set you back a bit - it's just that kind of thing that's always so expensive.

The door handle screw cover is no issue: http://www.britishparts.co.uk/.sc/ms...0SCREW%20COVER

For the cigar lighter trim, I'd suggest looking on ebay etc. for a second hand one. Just be careful that it matches the rest of your veneer (ie. it's not too UV faded).

EDIT: also, you need to be very careful not to bend veneer trim pieces, otherwise the clear coat will crack. From memory it's just wood veneer over aluminium, so it bends quite easily.

If you haven't made a mess of your existing clock, you should get it fixed my Module Master. http://modulemaster.com/en/services/clock_modules.php

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=39704

I had two fixed, and they're as good as new... nay, better than new because they install LED backlights to prevent heat damage (which is what causes the clock to **** up in the first place).

Turn around time, I can't remember exactly. It wasn't slow, though. And considering I live in NZ, it should be absolutely fine for you.

My receipt says USD$65 for each clock and USD$30 for shipping (again, that was to NZ, so don't worry), but their website now says $90.

Even at $90, it's still a far cry from what you'd be paying for a brand new one from Jaguar.

Just did mine with ModuleMaster a couple of weeks ago. Yep, they've gone up. All told, with shipping both ways, I believe it came to $128 or $122. Outbound, I used USPS insured for $500. UPS Ground for return, I think. Something like 1.5 - 2 wks total...but that may have included the Thanksgiving Holiday. Trouble remembering now exactly when I had it done. I went with their "green" option vice blue and it is a very nice match. Oh, one word of caution, if you have button illumination that is failed, replace it after you get it back from them and prior to installation. I mistakenly assumed their fix would mean my seat heater buttons would be illuminated when it returned....

Has anyone purchased a full interior trim set from him? Or maybe just the dash? I'd be really interested to know what he charges...
