Default very sad day ......

so about an hour ago i just managed to crash my xj6. ....

my question is for anyone is if you know any good/reputable body shop in the albany ny area? Also does anyone know if it is worth it. i do not want to get rid of it! its not too bad ill post pics soon. the motor still purs like she always did. I acutually was able to drive it home.

Also i would also like to say at this time to EVERYONE....please drive safely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you

John,

I never like to see a thread title like this because it's always bad news. Hope no one was injured.

Put the pics up and you'll get some good advice on repair options. At least being able to drive it home is some reason for optimism.

Thank you for your concern Graham. Thankfully nobody was injured and I am grateful that I got it home. It happened about a mile from my house on a road i take nearly everyday. It was rainy and the back end slipped out and into the guardrail I went. utter incompetence on my part. I feel awful. Ill make sure to get the pics up soon!

I can only ditto the above, thankfully no one was injured.

Hopefully the repairs will be fast and easy.

Sorry to hear the bad news but at least no injuries - cars can be mended.
It would be worth posting your question in your Regional section as well which you porbably know is

"Worth it?" how, exactly?

The market value is low on these cars so it wouldn't take much for repairs to exceed the cash value of the car. Not worth it.

OTOH, if you love the car and the damage isn't too terrible, it may be "worth it" to fix it from a more personal standpoint.

ok so i have pics of the damage.







Im gonna have someone take a look for an estimate. In the meant time, does anyone know where to get some body parts?? Im looking for a new hood, right fender, grill and inserts, headlamps, dash...etc.

As Graham says, its never good when you see a thread with that title.

thanks graham I appriciate the help. It seems like everything is fixable but the only thing that concerns me is the left back door. it seems like it bent alittle and the door is definitly outta alignment with the front door and rear fender. does anyone know what may have caused this. any input would be great

the damage is clearly visible in this pic
