Default 02 XJR Nav 'No Media Error'

Hey guys,

This may turn out to be silly question, but I haven't been able to find anything about it on the forum so far. I just picked up an 02 XJR100 and whenever I press the Nav button, it says "No Media Error." Does that simply mean it's missing the Navigation CD it needs to run the system, or is there an issue with the unit itself? As always, your feedback is appreciated.

Best,

David

I think its a DVD. Go to the trunk, and hit the eject button on the nav unit. Anything in there?

My system does work, but the newest maps are now 14 years old, so its kind of useless.

Previous owner didn't have a Nav DVD to go with the car. Hit the eject button on the unit but nothing in there. I'm just wondering if it needs the DVD to be loaded in order to operate?

The DVD is required for the unit to operate.

The old DVD technology is so bad compared to what a $50 Garmin will do these days I would say, why bother?

If you just want everything to work on the car, I understand that, but forget about getting any useful info out of the outdated system and maps.

If it works at all.

See my Garmin GPS I fitted in the armrest in place of the useless cup holder, it folds away when not in use.

You nailed it bud. I just want everything to work on the car as I'm planning to flip it to make a little money to help pay for university. I'm assuming that any potential buyer is going to want to see everything in perfect working order..That being said, I like your little armrest GPS mod.. Cool idea!

I've noticed that nav DVDs are selling for $200 on Ebay. Maybe it's time I sold mine!
