ABS and Traction Control Message come on when turn on front fog lights
When I turn on my front fog lights for a half second the ABS light and the traction control unavailable message comes on. Turn off and on multiple times and does not reocurr. Only happens first time after car start. For background, this is my LS swap so no Jag ECU or TCU. If I spin the rear tires, I get a traction control message so that doesn’t flow through the Jag ECU or TCU. @57loboy try on yours and tell me the result.

I've used the front and rear fog lights in crappy weather a couple times since finishing the conversion and haven't noticed that at all. My traction control and ABS are active and do work properly as well, with and without the lights on.
It sounds as if battery is low. The x308 will divert current away from those modules first if battery is low. Suggest you give her a full trickle charge overnight. Cheers
Yes, that is absolutely so. Those modules will come on when starting the Jag
from a weak battery. (Weak, but still enough to start the car) and after just a
minute or so they turn off.
@pcolapacker, I have used front/rear fog lamps since the swap without issue. It could be system voltage is low enough that the lamps pulled enough current to result in improper/temporary ABS module shutdown, resulting in the message. Weird. Curious to know what experience you and @57loboy have breaking the tires loose with traction control on as opposed to off (hint, I often need to turn mine off).
Mine spin with it on. There is no connection for the wheel spin readers to tell the engine to throttle back. Does the traction control use the brakes? I think I do get a message. Can’t try today (see pic). Yes, Pensacola, FL off the Gulf of Mexico, I mean Gulf of America.
Oh wow - that snow has to be freaking out the Floridians! Here in Austin area, we got a dusting last night and they'd cancelled schools for today already on Sunday evening. When I lived in New England, I'd wear a heavy hoodie/sweatshirt outside in this weather and not think twice until the snow was 4" or more. Now I wear that inside and am reluctant to go outside until it warms up as my blood has thinned. Oh well...
Anyway - back to the topic at hand: I leave the traction control on all the time and it kicks in (via brake modulation) regularly when I get on it hard. The dash warnings pop on/off as it's doing its thing. If I am in motion (say, 45 or so) and get on it hard for a burst of speed/power, the rear tires can break loose as it downshifts and traction control kicks in immediately to stabilize things while the car launches itself down the road. I tend not to try and spin the tires because a) Pirelli's are expensive and b) the car generates enough attention with the exhaust note, I don't need a smoke show to highlight how much silly fun it can be to drive. I'm also not looking to put a Quaife in the back to deal with the open rear end. Realistically, I only use 30-40% of the power available to me while daily driving.
I grew up in Wisconsin. Remember the days of putting sand bags in the trunk of my dad’s deuce and a quarter and putting on the snow tires (studded until they were made illegal). This kind of snow wouldn’t keep people off the roads but we had plows and salt.
Right, no throttle intervention like the original system had in place, but with it ON the rear ABS goes nuts if I break the rear tires loose unless I turn it off. To be clear, this isn't a "power brake burnout" (no brake pedal depression), more a rapid clutch release. I just read a bit more about the ABS/TCCM in the service manual and how it uses the onboard motor and accumulator to support ABS and Traction Control features without pedal depression. First time I went for it not knowing to turn it off it was pretty alarming as you could imagine.
Speaking of wheel spin, do either of you get wheel-hop real bad? Light wheel spin gives a lot of hop, if I give it the beans it's fine.
Good to know, thanks. I've been refining clutch hydraulics/actuation, maybe driver error is a factor for me also. Also just replaced all the stock shocks with new Bilsteins, will have to see what happens now.
