Default Brembo brakes - dust shields or seals

Dear all,

as I want to replace a failed rubber ring around one piston of my front brembo caliper (see green mark @ attached picture).
Can anyone confirm, if the part no JLM21403 is correct? And can anyone tell me the difference between the seals and the dust shields? Which is which?
Since english is not my mother tongue, I'm not certain if the shown parts are the dust shields or the seals.

Thanks very much!
Alexander

You need to renew the seal: I suggest you buy a caliper repair kit. It would have the parts you need.

Thanks for your reply. Do you happen to know, what's the part no of a repair kit or where I can look it up? Jaguar itself obviously doesn't offer these...couldn't find anything else than the dust shields mentioned above. And what are these dust shields?

Best regards, Alexander

there are tons of suppliers in the US, many with on-line catalogs. Can't help for finding these in Germany. Try EBay.

Cheers. Just wanted to get the terms "dust shields" and "seals" sorted. I just learned from another forum, that Jaguar names the outer rubber parts (which can be seen on the pictures) "dust shields" and the rings around the pistons = deep inside the caliper "seals".
As for european spare parts supply, Jaguar offers the dust shields only. But that's fine for me, as I need only them. Doesn't want to disassemble the caliper and renew the seals as well.
Regards, Alexander

I found only JLM21403 when I looked it up at jaguarclassicparts.com and JEPC. That's the only service part which seems to be provided from Jaguar for the Brembo brakes (and I do really hope, that these are the outer rubber seals/shields that I need).

By any chance, do you know an US based supplier with an online catalog so that I can look up the Brembo OEM number? I guess that's more helpful than having the Jaguar OEM only.
Just leaves the question, which Brembo caliper/brake system corresponds with the performance calipers which are fitted to our Jags...

Best regards and thank you very much for your support so far!

I searched: nothing found. No catalog that I found reflect the Brembo. You might try Range Rover. The 06 - 09 Super charged Sports has Brembos.

21403 is the right part but - I think - for standard single piston calipers.

The Jaguar parts dept should be able to confirm with your VIN.

One of the sellers had a picture of 21403 (a group of four) and the caliper. The caliper looks likeca two piston Brembo. Search BLM21403 for a seller with a drawing.

Anyway..I'll do some more research if I can get hold of a european based supplier who sells brembo service parts.
@european forum members: Do you have any ideas on that? Any experiences?

Thanks very much!
